Russell Square Hostel Reviews page 4
Based on 81 Hotel ReviewsExcellant location and safe hostel for lone female traveller. I even got a cup of tea and cake from a person who works there, who saw I was alone, which was very welcoming - "thank you" to that gentleman. He even went out of his way to put the subtitles on the TV, so I could follow - I'm hard of hearing. In summary, friendly, comfortable, safe, fab location - great hostel at great budget cost for people watching their pennies. I will come again
Smart Russell Square is good value for the money you pay in a central location in London, just around the corner from Russell Square Tube Station, also near the British Museum. Great location, good student-young atmosphere. Privacy whilst sleeping with curtains on the bunk-beds. Breakfast very basic, but good if you're starving
Great location, friendly staff, clean rooms. Kitchen a bit understocked for cooking, and you have to pay extra to use the in room lockers (electronic locks)
Was very clean, staff was helpful. I will book Smart Russell Square again
Stayed at Smart Russell Sqaure 7 times in total from January 2010 - May 2013, never had a bad experience. Friendly staff, clean enough and for the price what more do you want? If you just want somewhere to sleep and wash then this is perfect. If you want luxury, go to Claridges
Smart Russell Square has everything you need if you want somewhere affordable. You get what you pay for.
Smelly and claustrophobic room at the Smart Russell Square. Not very fresh and old interior frankly. Bed too short. Ridiculous price/quality relationship.
Smart Russell Square Hostel staff were friendly and helpful. The hostel was clean with good facilities. The hostel was very central to everything and with both the train station and the 2 tubes within walking distance, London could not have been more accessible. Get an oyster card and pay for zone day trippers. It saves loads. We took the zone 1-2 tube day ticket at a cost of £3 and you can use it as many times as you like. The only downside was that the beds are too short and not comfy.
Smart Russell Square is a simple and efficient service.
The service was good as they amended the original booking without much fuss. However, the actual accommodation was not good, even by cheap hostel standards. The beds were too short for me and I am only 6ft tall so I had to sleep in foetal position all night, or with my legs apart. The actual dorm was full of litter. The lockers were alright but I wasn't sure if mine locked or not after I closed it. I didn't try the showers. One good thing was that the breakfast was free and actually quite good.
