The Belgravia Hostel Reviews page 5
Based on 89 Hotel ReviewsReally close to Victoria coach station which is what we needed. Room small but usable and exactly what you pay for. Room clean and just what we needed for a mid week stay to the capital. Great hosts too very friendly. Would stop there again when we come to London in the future.
This was a good hotel in London, and very close to the Victoria Station. I would have liked a little more selection at breakfast, but overall good experience
The hotel was not clean and the bed in my room was broken. The ceiling appeared damp, as though there was a leak in the above room and their were dirty marks on the floor. The t.v did not work, there was no coffee/tea making facilities and no hair dryer. The window was broken and therefore I could here everything from outside and could not sleep. When I tried to complain to reception they didn't care and disregarded my complaints. I was really disappointed and wouldn't stay there again.
I could have not been more displeased with this hotel. I did get the "ensuite" room I requested but the smells in the bathroom were awful. The bathroom was so small you could hardly sit on the toilet. The room was also small with not much room to move around and there was no place to put my suitcase. There was a small TV in the room but it didn't work. The rug in the room did not look very clean and the "continental breakfast" was also unsatisfactory. Because there were not enough dishes, glasses etc. to use, guests were going into the kitchen to wash dirty dishes themselves. There was no dishwasher. I was disappointed during my stay there and would not stay there again.
The Belgravia Hotel wasn't what we expected, great location but hotel was a let down for what we paid. The room was small with a tiny prefabricated en-suite, half a shower and a picture missing off wall with nails exposed. I was given a front door key that was bent and had trouble opening the door, told the person on reception and was told its a copy you had to bend it etc. I was very disappointed with this hotel.
The rooms were and uncomfortable and I found the staff to be unprofessional. We arrived in the evening and were met in the front corridor, due to the fact that the "reception area" was being renovated. We were asked to pay on arrival which was fine but were not given a receipt and were told that we would be give one when we checked out on the Monday. I asked to receive some sort of proof that we had paid in full and was refused by a second man but after arguing for about 10 minutes we finally agreed that we would accept a receipt on the Monday. On Monday morning upon trying to leave there was no one in said "reception area" and we had to ring the outside doorbell three times in order for someone to collect our keys. The room was tiny, with barely enough room to even walk around the bed. The en-suite bathroom did not have a proper door and the closet-type folding door did not even close completely. Furthermore, the top half was glass so you could see into the bathroom. The shower barely worked and the entire room and bathroom were so cramped it was very difficult to move around at all. Breakfast was very meagre and we preferred to eat out after seeing it the first day. It was also served extremely early, from 8:00-9:30. The only positive thing is the location. Very central, near Victoria.
Pro: Very good and central location Contra: - Broken shower cabin and shower hose - Plaster coming from the wall - Sink's drain is taped with gaffa-tape - Cheap and old furniture - Rooms need to be renovated - Not clean - Not very friendly young east-european staff - Poor breakfast (tea, toast, cornflakes) > Much too expensive for what you get
The manager at the Belgravia Hotel is very kind and helpful . The rest of the hotel is very poor. No coffe, just a kettle and instant coffee instead, and the bathroom door opened only 30º. Very convenient location, that's all
I did not expect the Ritz and have stayed in budget hotels before. Was clean and staff friendly but was on the ground floor on top of the dining area. There was a party and the guests and staff were very noisy until 12 pm. I booked a Superior Double but there was an extra bed in the room. Also no tea making facilities
Excellent location and pleasant staff
