Old Friend Hotel Reviews page 5
Based on 50 Hotel ReviewsPleasantly surprised by the Old Friend Hotel after reading the reviews. Spacious, clean room, friendly staff and for only £40.00 a night. Recommended.
I went to this hotel with a friend and we like it. People working there were helpful and friendly to us. We think it was good for the value. Close to centre. Great position.
Dont bother with this place it's very poor quality. Service was poor, staff were not welcoming or inviting in the slightest. My light in my room didn't work, the person showing me to my room said the fuse had gone and he would get someone to fix it in a minute. The bedside light didn't even have a plug on it so I went downstairs and asked for a new light. I was only using my room as a place to stay after a night out but I wouldnt stay here again.
The rooms at the Old Friend Hotel are simple but clean and the staff are friendly.
The outside was not that welcoming, but when I got inside I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is good, quiet, clean and conducive environment. The price is affordable and their employees are friendly. One was exceptionally helpful and always ensured that my needs were met at all times. Next time I am in London, I will surely book Old Friend Hotel again
Overall place not very clean although beds were freshly changed. Bathroom and self-service kitchen was a complete mess. The bathrooms had no proper showers and overall not very clean at all. Otherwise ok I did not feel as if I could use the bath as it was so dirty.
You'll not find many better bargains than here, so close to the centre of London. Single room was microscopic, and the shared bathroom did not appear to have been cleaned all week (though it was spotless when I arrived). Other than that everything was great at Old Friend Hotel
Quiet, courteous and well-equipped for the price. The outside courtyard would be a great amenity in summer
A strange little place, accessed via a door between two shops on bustling Roman Road. Once inside, quite tidy, staff friendly without being talkative. Room small but clean; bed clean and very comfortable. Walls paper-thin and I was next to bathroom which appeared to be shared by more than two rooms. I was only in London for one night so the hotel suited me fine, but for a longer stay I would look for somewhere quieter
I would definitely not recommend Old Friend Hotel. When checking in you are asked how you intend to pay. There is an exorbitant fee to pay by credit card, and - if you don't have sufficient cash to pay you are frog marched off to a cash point a few minutes across the road. The rooms are cheap, but are cramped, basic and have no wardrobe space. Certain standard hotel facilities are not guaranteed. When I stayed, the TV in the room wasn't working. I was told this was because it was raining (there was a light drizzle outside) and when I politely asked if I could get a small discount because of this lack of a basic service I was treated rudely.
