Hyde Park Whiteleaf Hotel Reviews page 6
Based on 59 Hotel ReviewsThe standard room was very basic (no soap or towel) and a little rundown. The toilet was dirty and an absolute mess as was the breakfast room.
What I found the most helpful was the location of the hotel...It is not too far from the tube station and all the major London attractions are just a few underground stops away...The staff were friendly and the room tariff was very competitive and the room we stayed in was quite decent and met our requirement...I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London...Its good value for money...I know I will go back the next time I am in London again!
Shower was mouldy, drain blocked, only cold water in the morning, no hand towels, toilet paper ran out daily with no new supply, dusty and no daily cleaning, dirty bedspreads, only one blanket for three beds. What they called a "buffet" breakfast was toast and marmalade, and we had to wait for replenishment coffee or milk or both every morning. No cheese, no greens...
Staff were friendly and helpful. No hot water one day. No kettle in one of the rooms. Plugs looked dangerous and broken hairdryer was hanging off the wall.
From walking in it was lovely, but it didn't last. Our door didn't lock, TV wouldn’t work, we were moved to a flight up, in here there was 1 glass, 1 spoon, 2 cups but NO kettle, the phone didn't even work, the bedding leaves much to the imagination, the blankets were IKEA throw rugs and I’m 6ft tall. On walking through the hotel the dirty bedding is left all over the walk ways & hoover was left sitting in the middle of the hallway. At breakfast the table cloths were bed sheets. For the price, coming from a hotel user it was not good value for our money.
Very nice room, clean enough, very good position, good price.
Nice hotel close to Hyde Park. Our room was on the third floor (there are no lifts) and was very hot in July. Some of the lights did not work and despite asking they were not fixed. Despite this the staff were friendly, the location close to central London yet quiet and close to the park, and I would stay there again.
Good location (near Queensway). Good service. Room needed some repairs but perfectly adequate and everything worked. Continental breakfast very ordinary. Served my purpose perfectly; a short stay to attend meetings.
This hotel was very poor, the showers were ice cold and we had to ask 2 days running for clean towels. The "continental" breakfast consisted of toast and cornflakes only. My friends were also put into the basement room where the curtains were falling off, the hairdryer didn't work and the carpet hadn't been hoovered. There was no kettle to make tea/coffee and only 2 teacups in the triple room and half the plug sockets didn't work. They also carried out refurbishments (replaced the carpets) in the rooms whilst we were staying in the room without informing us, lost the lighting in my room during this time for over 3 hours. Overall the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The only redeeming factor was the location.
The hotel has a very good location, easy connection to city centre, clean bedrooms and bathrooms, fine reception and restaurant, and friendly staff. Its staircase only is the bad thing which need mountain climber to deal with, and also you may smell some Indian spices; it is not very bad but might bother you. The price is acceptable; not very cheap but in comparison with other rooms in good condition in central London you will be happy.
