Hatfield College Durham Reviews page 4
Based on 53 Hotel ReviewsMy room was clean and comfortable in student-like accommodation. Not luxurious but perfectly sufficient, well-located, and with a good cooked breakfast in the morning. It perfectly met my needs for comfortable, budget accommodation.
Very comfortable room, excellent food. Porter extremely helpful in many ways and he deserves credit.
Great stay. Clean, large room. Spotless bathrooms with fluffy towels. Breakfast was great too. Unusual to get to stay in such a historic and beautiful building. Plus it was so cheap! Would definitely stay again if I was in Durham.
This is superior accommodation for academics, not a hotel, and you take your full English breakfast in the College Hall at refectory tables with other guests, possibly a nostalgic experience before venturing out to visit the castle and cathedral. Couldn't be closer to them and plenty of eating places just down the hill, after which nice river bank walks along the Wear with dramatic views of the 1000 years old buildings on the top.
Staff very courteous and sorted out the minor mix up with room (initially had 2 singles instead of a double). Excellent value for money.
Excellent location, the place is full of history. Fantastic breakfast and very friendly staff. Rooms a little tired and old fashioned but perfectly adequate as long as you're not expecting wi-fi, TV, phone etc. Really enjoyed my stay here would come again without hesitation
Very nice location near the Durham Cathedral, room reasonable, very fine breakfast. A very good price/quality
My wife and I enjoyed a splendid weekend in Durham. We were very impressed with Hatfield College Durham - excellent value. Very handy for Cathedral, Castle and City. Accommodation of a high standard, very helpful, pleasant and efficient staff. Who could ask for more?
A very enjoyable stay. Room was a double and better than I thought it would be, considering it is student accommodation. Shower, bathroom pack (including shampoo, shower gel, face cloth, toothbrush and toothpaste), tv, clock alarm and fluffy towels. Porters at the Gatehouse were unfailingly helpful. Breakfast generous. The College is close to the centre of Durham and the Cathedral, so is excellent value
Rooms were very convenient and clean with necessary facilities. Bathrooms and toilets limited for number of rooms sharing. Noisy plumbing!
