Hatfield College Durham Reviews page 3
Based on 53 Hotel ReviewsThe rooms themselves were fine; the problem was that the rooms we stayed in were directly above the reception desk. No one can talk quietly even at midnight and we were kept awake. Breakfast was very good
Excellent location, breakfast fine, but somewhat disappointed by the accommodation. Described as "Recently refurbished", "Executive", and "4 star" but did not live up to billing - think 2 -3 star at most. The en-suite was shabby, and beds just ok, but duvets would have been preferable to sheets, and furniture generally past its best. Expensive at 80 pounds- travelodge at 60 pounds much better value. But we did enjoy the atmosphere and location
Everything was so much beyond expectation. Excellent facilities, but more important very kind and knowledgeable people to help 'strangers'
Very clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff and very helpful, especially arriving late at night with a broken leg partner intoe. Good breakfast that set us both up for the day ahead
Excellent value for money. All facilities clean and as promised. Location fantastic
The room was large and clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was adequate. However, while the in-room brochure mentioned that guests could use a computer room, the porter refused to provide access to bed and breakfast guests who were not part of a conference. This was highly disappointing
Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, good value room. A small quibble, it would be helpful to have a sheet under the duvet, plus a thin blanket if needed for humid nights. The duvet and blanket provided are both too heavy
The reservation process and checking into the dormitory rooms went very smoothly, even though we were not able to arrive until after 10 pm. The Hatfield College porter was very helpful to us. We also appreciated the hearty breakfast that was offered and the helpfulness of the staff who prepared and served the meal. I would definitely stay at Hatfield College again if I were travelling in the area and looking for affordable dormitory-type accommodation
Great location with free parking - not easy to find in Durham centre! Room nice and clean. Good to have coffee and tea making facilities. Bed very hard and not very comfortable (could feel the bed base through the mattress) Breakfast OK, would have preferred meat sausages not vegetarian equivalent. Overall good stay and would return
The porter was very professional and friendly, quite exceptional
