Bankside House TopFloor Reviews page 6
Based on 54 Hotel ReviewsRoom was fine--although very hot and no fans available. Good basic amenities--but surprised that room was not cleaned or replenished in the 5 days we were there (e.g extra coffee, soap, etc.) Good basic facilities around the area--wonderful location
Excessive continual noise outside (Tate Modern) required that windows stayed shut despite the heat. Other noise emanating from bathroom required the bathroom door to be propped shut from the inside (as the door would not otherwise stay closed). Comfortable bed
The room size is decent and location is good. Not noisy as I had feared but would have preferred to have an armchair or something to sit on. The shared kitchen was a disappointment as it had no windows, dark and cluttered.
Would not suit everyone but I was delighted. Upside: Good price, clean, safe, comfortable, great location. Kitchen available so could make food if wanted or heat stuff up. Downsides: Bathroom basic & small TV. Fire alarm went off at 2:30am.
We arrived after a day of 30C heat and we could not open the windows more. For the 5 days we were at Bankside, we slept with no sheets. Would be good to have some sheets and blankets on hand for those of us who find duvets too hot. Corridors were airless and hot, too, until someone opened up the corridor windows. This was due to fire doors, so not sure if anything can be done about it! More than one towel for a couple would be a good idea: we got an extra one from the maid one morning. Apart from these quibbles, we enjoyed our time and found the location incredibly convenient, the room clean and comfortable, front desk staff extremely pleasant and cafeteria fine.
Room was comfortable and good value for money. Hot shower, clean and comfortable bed. Hair dryer would have been good. Reception staff were friendly. Dinner in "restaurant" was in my view inedible, nasty dry fishcake with rotten salad leaves and cold green beans. Service slapdash. So I did not try breakfast!
Great location with basic accommodations. My room was not serviced the 3 days I stayed there. The WiFi did not work in the 8Th floor. Staff were nice. Tate Modern and The Globe were very close by as well as several good, moderately priced restaurants and a Marks & Spencer's.
The room was perfectly reasonable for the price, particularly for the convenience of its position in London. The staff very friendly and helpful.
Pleasant, helpful personnel. Room fine, basic but comfortable. Nice thick towels! Good position for access to `centre`. Quiet area, away from London traffic noise.
