Skyways Hotel Reviews page 6
Based on 49 Hotel ReviewsMy family and I enjoyed staying at Skyways. It was clean and the food was great and the beds were remarkably comfortable. The staff was exceptionally kind to us and went out of their way to make us feel special. We did not book a 5 star hotel and did not expect that it would be; so minor annoyances (TV channels not working, creaky floors, etc.) did not bother us at all. We especially enjoyed the location, being outside of the city centre but only one stop away from Windsor Castle. We recommend Skyways for those who are on a budget but want to sleep and eat well
I recently had the misfortune to stay at this hovel. The room was very very dirty, the decor was ancient and the staff had little or no understanding of English. Dust and dirt seemed to be the norm throughout the hotel. When my main light bulb blew I decided not to ask for it to be changed, for fear of the dust avalanche that would come from the lamp shade! The full English breakfast consisted of, 1 egg, 1 rasher of bacon and 1 poor quality sausage. When I asked for a change of room, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked. Strange though that there were only 4 people at breakfast the next day! Take my advice, please. Don't ever consider staying at this hovel, there are plenty more about and they can't possibly be as bad as this one.
The room was nothing like that was described on your website. It was in the attic. There were no laundry facilities and the room had a shower made for people 1 metre high, no shower curtain, I am 165cm tall and couldn't stand up in the shower due to the sloping ceiling, the towels were replaced on the second day and the room was left unlocked with all our gear in the room. There is a section in the room that opens up and it was full of books newspapers etc - a great place for vermin and a fire to start. The breakfast was very ordinary. The people tried to be friendly initially but really didn't have any comprehension of customer service. I spent 1 month touring the UK and of all the places we stayed this was the worst.
If you're looking for a cheap hotel just 30 mins from London city centre then Skyways is the right one. It took some time to check in but in the end it was a good stay! Clean rooms and bathrooms, good breakfast. Our daughters were amazed at the quality of the hotel... and it's not easy to amaze them!! ;-)
