Room too small, breakfast really poor but really comfortable bed and helpful staff at Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale. Cool position near cafes and restaurants

Good room with good bed at Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale. Good breakfast. Unfortunately there were marks on the ceiling of the shower

I wanted to give this Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale 5 stars as the room was great and most of the staff were polite and helpful. There were two issues that made me reconsider, unfortunately. Firstly, there was an issue where the waiter told me I wasn't entitled to breakfast despite me paying for it. This caused an awkward situation where we had to go to reception to clarify that I had in fact paid for it. This would have been forgivable except for the fact that the exact same issue happened the next morning and the waiter was still acting oblivious to everything. I was so fed up I just paid extra for the breakfast despite already paying. Secondly, there were a few issues with reception. Reception never seem to answer telephone calls. I tried to call them 5 different times throughout the day to inform them I would be checking in late but they never answered once. They also can keep you waiting for a long time and seem to concentrate on other tasks rather than helping people at the front desk. However there was an Italian receptionist who was extremely helpful and answer all my queries. In conclusion, sort yourselves out a little, get organised and you could be an excellent hotel

Excellent value hotel. Great location for getting in and out of London. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Friendly staff. Good buffet breakfast. Couldn't fault it at all! I would definitely book Maitrise Hotel London Maida Vale again
