Griffin House Hotel Reviews page 2
Based on 48 Hotel ReviewsThe location of the hotel is great because it is close to the city centre and you might even go on foot to the main sightseeing. The breakfast though it was just continental was also good. We did not like our room as it was in the basement. Although the bathroom and toilet were clean, it was small. The beds were comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful.
Superb location near Marble Arch, Hyde Park and London's premiere shopping area Oxford Street and Bond Street. Next to Edgware Road and therefore great place to eat middle eastern cuisine and more. The room we booked was double. Very clean but very basic, with w/c and shower, but since we were out all day all we needed was for sleeping. A chair would have been nice but suppose not enough space. The breakfast was continental but plenty of choice for our needs. The price is slightly high and quoted as per person rather than per room. Helpful and friendly staff. For its location I would recommend this nice small Central London hotel. I would not mind staying here again
Overall a pleasant stay at Griffin House Hotel, however a remark regarding how easy we hear all noises, moves in the building has to be mentioned, this made the sleep not optimal, unfortunately. And as well a bit disappointed on departure day: ordered a taxi for 08:15, asked if it was possible to get something to eat before leaving. Answer was no because staff was not at ready by then. Even if the breakfast is actually served at 08:30. A coffee and a muffin would have been possible to get
I liked the Griffin House Hotel very much. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was ok but the rolls were not fresh. The room was clean and well furnished. I am sorry that you have put the price up as it will probably deter a further visit
I stayed over night with my mum and sister. We had a room for 3. The hotel was close to Marble Arch tube and close to Hyde Park which was good for us. The staff were very helpful and friendly the breakfast was lovely. We would book again. The hotel was in a nice area and we felt comfortable being there.
The Griffin House Hotel was wonderful, the hotel was perfect for me; quiet, clean, in a great location and everyone who was associated with this hotel were pleasant.
The food and linen were excellent quality at Griffin House Hotel, the rooms clean and the staff very friendly and helpful, but it has creaky floorboards so be warned if you have a room above you
I booked the overnight stay at Griffin House Hotel in order to avoid rushing home to Suffolk late at night following the Paul Simon concert in Hyde Park. We found the staff welcoming and friendly and the accommodation, though basic, clean and adequate. I chose Griffin House, mainly, because of its proximity to Marble Arch Underground and the park and in this regard it was very convenient. One disappointment was the absence of tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a tip for (like me) over seventies. Ensure before arrival that your accommodation is on one of the lower floors. It's a long (and steep) trek up to the top floor. Particularly with luggage
Easy to find, but hectic trying to find parking. Staff were not helpful with understanding the congestion charges (not applicable on weekends), this added to the stress of parking as I was told by their reception that if I drive past them I would be in the congestion area. Very small room, and no hand soap in the bathroom. Would book Griffin House Hotel again only for one night and would not drive down
I enjoyed my 2 night stay at Griffin House Hotel. I stayed in a triple room which was clean, as was the bathroom, and overall I think it was good value for money. The people working in the hotel were also very pleasant, and it's situated very close to the Marble Arch and Paddington underground stations which makes getting around that bit easier. It perhaps could do with a lick of paint in some areas and we could often hear the creaky floor boards from upstairs but all in all I think you get what's to be expected from the cheap price and I would definitely recommend it if you're on a budget
