Charing Cross Hotel Reviews page 4
Based on 34 Hotel ReviewsI found the room reasonably clean, though the shower/toilet area was rather cramped. The Guest House is in great position for the town centre shopping/ eating/ entertainment. I would stay there again.

The Charing Cross hotel is rather far from both train stations so a bit of a hike with a large and heavy backpack. Unfortunately there was a malfunction of the fire alarm one of the nights we were staying there so we were woken up several times throughout the night to a screeching fire alarm. The facilities are particularly tired and in desperate need of work however at the end of the day they did give us a good breakfast and it was after all just a cheap bed to sleep in while we saw Glasgow. So, if you are after a cheap bed and don't mind having tired facilities this is a good place.
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. In general the place is a bit dated and tatty, the waitress's were sullen and distant and the breakfast poor with no choice with the cooked one. The mattress was far from comfy! But overall it could have been a lot worse.
Good experience, helpful staff, rooms were adequate, mattresses too saggy, overall hotel was clean and service was pleasant and helpful.
Friendly and cosy place to stay. Nice breakfast, reception was good and rooms were clean.
One bathroom shared between 6 rooms? 12 people. Unable to have use of bathroom despite being up at 6am and had to leave without breakfast. Cracked pictures/noisy taps/room very warm with window WIDE open on arrival. Suffer from hay fever so that was uncomfortable to say the least. Dust on curtains had to be seen to be believed. Could not reach window to shut it without standing on a chair. Couldn’t see in the mirror. Could have done if I had been six foot tall. No offer of help with luggage. All in all a very dismal experience. No wonder tourists believe this country to be over-priced for poor accommodation. They are completely correct. Would NEVER return to this hotel even if paid.
It had everything you require for an overnight stay. I stayed in a triple room with bathroom facilities just outside the bedroom so not far too walk. 24 hour reception so you can return at night whenever it suits you and breakfast in morning was good although only open until 9am. Room was bright and tidy although a bit dusty but for the money you're paying well worth it - would definitely book Charing Cross hotel again as it is only a 10 minute walk from city centre.
Friendly staff nice breakfast. The room window didn't close so the room was freezing at night. The shower was covered in black mould and the floor hadn't been washed in weeks.
