Carr-Saunders Hall Reviews page 6
Based on 120 Hotel ReviewsEverything was clean and tidy at the Carr-Saunders Hall, the people very very kind. Central heating was good. Food fantastic. And the situation of the Hall is almost perfect.
The room at Carr-Saunders Hall was extremely basic and old-looking. The bed was tiny, the heating was off and the window was open when I arrived. The bathroom was shared for men and women, and I don't think it's cleaned in the evenings. The wash basin has separate taps for hot and cold water and no mixer. There is a vending machine for snacks but its overpriced. Checkout is too early at 10.30, and at 10.30 sharp the room key is deactivated. I didn't have breakfast ad they stop serving at 10:00. The location is good, close to Tottenham Court Road, but for a budget student hall of residence the price is too high. You can get a proper hotel in London for that price.
Carr-Saunders Hall is value for money in the centre of London and has an excellent breakfast.
We spend two nights at Carr-Saunders Hall and enjoyed our stay. The staff are really friendly and the breakfast was really good. However, the rooms were a bit smelly, but clean.
The hotel was nicely situated, but quite noisy with all the slamming doors. The breakfast was satisfactory. Overall good value for money
A lovely stay. Nice helpful people at the reception and a good room for sleeping a few nights. Good communications. Breakfast was good, but sometimes I felt a bit stressed choosing what to eat because some people who worked there was inpatient. Otherwise it was the best stay in London for me
Pros: Central location; proximity of underground, buses and international trains (St Pancras); great breakfast; clean rooms (but very basic and shaby) and nice kitchenette Cons: front-door card not working, no wi-fi, hot water problems.
Pros, very frendly and helpful staff, breakfast excellent and postion of Carr-Saunders Hall very handy. Cons, my room was without any charm and seemed bare of any decoration also because they were no blinds of any sort on the windows (and across the road were other rooms, I think filled with real students) you could only get privacy by drawing the curtains fully! this combined to make the room at times feel like a police cell not a great feeling! I must also mention that at no time during my stay did the hotwater tap in my room produce anything above lukewarm water no matter how long I ran the tap (although I must admit I did not report this at the time)
The location was near to Oxford Street and easy access to places of interests via buses and the underground. The room was basic, and the shared bathrooms were clean and adequate. The shared kitchen was well equipped and maintained
The accomodation is very central and near to my meetings in Westminster. Clean and functional with a good lift service to all floors. accurate and friendly staff. Great breakfasts. Spacious lounge areas. Security on entry with key card and night porter. One critisism, toilets and showers unisex and lacking in privacy. Not very nice for the students in term time. Otherwise excellent value for money. I shall book with you again and I have reserved accommodation near Heathrow already for 2013
