Camden Lock Hotel Reviews page 6
Based on 63 Hotel ReviewsThe outside looks run down, the staff struggled to speak English and was not very approachable, but the room was clean and bed very comfortable and in great location to get to places in Camden
Friendly service, good location, safe, secure... good 3 star service
'Pros:' good location (2 min from Chalk Farm tube station), staff - OK, bacon and sausages for breakfast. 'Cons:' rooms were very very cold (had to sleep with my jeans and T-shirt on), water was barely warm. Was told that they turn off heating from 4pm to 7pm, but it did not function throughout the day. Also a very noisy pub across the street, but my windows were on the opposite side
Clean, convenient location and good value. No complaints. 24 hr access very useful. Would stay there again.
The room was tatty, but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were just there for a weekend stay in Camden, and the hotel was ideal for that purpose.
Clean, tidy, good breakfast. Ideal for tube and Camden Market and The Venue. Pub opposite was a bit noisy but they were gone by 2am
Had a very good stay. Enjoyed the freedom of being able to come and go at any point day or night. The Rooms were kept clean and tidy by housekeeping to a very good standard. Would be happy to book here again when in London
Location is great with Chalk Farm Tube Station only a minute walk from the hotel and the centre of Camden Town within a 10 minute walk also. Rooms are basic a little tired looking but all in all for 60 pound a night for a twin room its exactly what I would expect. Staff were helpful and polite too
If you're looking to stay in Camden and experience all it has to offer then this is your place. Just across the road from Chalk Farm tube station. The rooms are all en-suite from what I can gather and you get flat screen telly plus tea and coffee making facilities. Beds comfortable, clean towels every day. There is no lift however, so you do have to take the stairs. If you're young and fit though this would not be a problem. Also one very slight criticism there is not much space to hang clothes. But overall I love it here and always book if I am visiting Camden.
Our initial impression was not good as the carpet on the stairs was very dirty and shabby. Our room was ok. Very basic but it was clean. My brother’s room was more like a cupboard than a room as the bathroom was very small, however it was clean. The location of the hotel was ideal, very close to Camden Market, but found it very noisy at night. Would not recommend this hotel.
