Athena Palace Hotel London Reviews page 2
Based on 45 Hotel ReviewsVery clean and tidy room, nice and hot shower, very warm heating, definitely book Athena Palace Hotel again soon
Will definitely stay at this hotel again but it needs to address certain aspects of cleanliness and maintenance standards. Our room had a broken toilet seat that was not fixed in place and the shower curtain was filthy at the bottom. Not major things, but basic things that could be put right very easily. Otherwise, a good hotel with a lovely lady on reception called Lalita. The hotel is in a very good position for travelling around London due to it's proximity to a tube station. Free parking also makes it a very attractive place to stay.
More of a hostel than a hotel. The bed was noisy and full of protruding springs. The shower tiles were mouldy and the toilet was leaking. Cups/Glasses dirty. Double and single bed in the room. Small TV. Protruding wires from electrical box. The corridor and public areas were dirty; I did not even contemplate breakfast. The staff were relatively friendly but there was a bit of a language barrier with the chap who escorted me to the room. Okay for the price but would not return
The staff were pleasant. The room wasn't great. There was a really noisy gas heater in our room which kept us awake
Basic accommodation, fridge, television, bed and a shower, and also a clothes cupboard. Staff pleasant, but no one on reception after 22.00, so you are provided with your own key, to get in and out
Stayed here for a birthday party nearby. It's pretty basic. The annexe (across the road from main hotel) is a cheaply converted Victorian house, so you hear pretty much everything going on in the next rooms. But the room was a decent size, the shower etc. worked fine, generous use of the elctric heater ensured the room was warm (central heating only appeared to come on in the morning). The beds were adequately comfortable, with the usual hard pillows. Some offstreet parking, quite tricky to negotiate. Breakfast was adequate. For the money it was fine - apart from the lack of bedside lamps. Bus 29 takes you direct to Trafalgar Square, right outside the door. Two 24-hr general stores right outside the door. I think if you were to stay a week, it would be cheaper - but there again, this is not the sort of hotel you can "retreat" to and sink into a comfy chair in the lobby or lounge. These things don't exist. Staff are quite friendly
The room was basic but adequate, with clean beds and fresh towels provided. The shower was excellent, but the bathroom smelt very bad - it was clean, but it smelt badly of drains. The facilities were good, with a fridge, microwave, fan and TV with freeview. The breakfast was very basic, toast, ham and cheese and cake! The stay was pleasant and the maid was very friendly and helpful.
Basic, clean and just what we needed from a cheap hotel. Staff were lovely, breakfast was very basic but beds were comfortable.
The stay was pleasant, the family room for 5 was a very nice, suitable room with clean sheets and towels, nice and warm. The breakfast was very good value for money and the staff were great, helpful and friendly. The only downside was the location of the actual room which was away from the main hotel, up a side street, and we did wonder where we were going!!! But otherwise a good stay.
Low quality breakfast, dirty bathroom. It was good the fact that they had wireless, just this!
