Hostel 63 was really good :)
The location of Hostel 63 is perfect. It is just between two tube stations (Bayswater and Notting Hill). Also the service is gentle and good. Otherwise the quality of hostel is not good at all. Rooms were crap and oldish. We had a shower in our room but it was out of order. We only had public WCs but they didn't really work. Also, the showers were public but they were on the fifth floor and not clean at all. We stayed on the first floor. Sad to say, but I wouldn't recommend this hostel to others.
Hostel 63 is not a high quality hostel, but it is one of the cheapest you can find in central London. The location is great, near the Hyde Park and Portobello market, but the only extra you receive is free WiFi. There is a common room and kitchen where you could meet people. It is good value for money when you keep in mind that it is one of the cheapest and you should know what you are buying.
It was ok. Everything as it should be
I found the staff to be extremely friendly, polite and most hopeful at Hostel 63. The room I was in however I found to be extremely cramped with maybe 3ft (60cm) between the door and the first set of (very squeaky) bunks, both set of bunks again with maybe even less space between that you had to "side pass" through. There are no towels provided to shower and I found the duvet very thin. There was not a proper window covering so the sunlight beamed through to wake you up without your own choice. It was however great to have a sink and mirror placed in the room and more than ample space for luggage under the bed and opposite to the sink also with many power points placed in the room. There are many toilets which is handy dotted throughout the Hostel. Communal areas are decorated brightly and colourfully making it seem nice and cheery. Over all it is to be expected to not a 5 star experience when you stay at a budget hostel. I would say for each positive there was a negative. But the sheer friendliness of the staff (the manager in particular) is its main appeal, plus its fantastic location so I give this place 3 out of 5. Not a place to stay if you plan on sitting inside the whole majority of the time, but if you want a bargain place to "crash out" after sight seeing in a great location then it's ideal.
