Passfield Hall Reviews page 5
Based on 92 Hotel ReviewsAs on previous stay, comfortable and convenient. Breakfast very good. Friendly staff. A bus map available at reception would be useful. Very good value.
Great affordable rooms with a welcoming staff
I stayed at Passfield Hall for one night. It was a really convenient location, very close to Euston Station. The reception was manned with friendly staff and a security guard at night and the card system on the front doors meant it was secure. I booked a single room which was small but adequate. There was no ensuite but I never had any problems with the shared bathrooms, clean and in sufficient supply. My one complaint is a combination between my thoughtless neighbour and the thin walls. I had a restless night from hearing coughing from one side (which cannot be helped) but then was woken by a very loud telephone overseas call at 5.30. The booming inconsiderate man continued for over half an hour. I probably ought to have knocked on the door to ask him to be quieter but was on my own and didn't feel comfortable to do so. I did have earplugs in. Take some and hopefully you won't be as unlucky as me. The breakfast was good. Lots of choice- cereals, fresh and tinned fruit, yoghurt, cooked breakfast, toast, croissants and a good selection of drinks. All in all I would probably stay at Passfield Hall again but would be ready to knock on the walls
Enjoyed our stay in main building, though beds a bit hard for me! Great location for us and our fourth stay here
Sadly I have to say I was not overly impressed. The room was clean but the bed had a hard service and sleep was poor. The space was very constricted and the aspect was straight onto the road at ground level with no privacy. I understand the need for security but it felt more like surveillance as one came and went through the entrance area, which had the feel more of an office than a 'reception'. It just didn't feel comfortable and I think staff could have worked a little harder to be welcoming. I've stayed on a number of occasions before and this is the first time that its felt like this. I don't remember having to eat breakfast in the fashion now required - using a thin paper plate and plastic/cornstarch knife and fork. It felt like being in a secure psychiatric unit. Two forks broke and I ended up finishing eating by hand. Getting a shower (warm) in the afternoon seemed almost impossible - although after a very long period of waiting (6/7 mins?) the temperature of the water did pick up a bit. Because I found the room depressing and not a place to linger in, I did a local hotel search and booked into a Travelodge for the final night of my booked stay. Arranging that at 11.00am the same morning, the cost for a double en-suite room was £58.00.(Passfield £45 for single+ breakfast).
Passfield Hall was a great place to stay for that price and location. Rooms are a little small, and the breakfast is typically greasy British fare, but who is always eating healthy food when travelling. One gripe is the disposable breakfast cutlery, especially when the place is trying to be green. Overall recommended
Passfield Hall was in a very convenient location. Quiet surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Showers could be better but adequate except for lack of hot water on one day. (I believe problem was rectified immediately). I would definitely book here again.
Nice and warm welcome on our arrival at reception at Passfield Hall. Room was nice and back of the building as I requested. But the room was pretty noisy as the entrance door to the building is facing the room window. Did not sleep well. Shower and toilets very clean. Great breakfast
The wc-flush on the 2nd floor was low, rest was fine, thanks for all
The facilities at Passfield Hall are spotlessly clean so 5/5 for cleanliness. However, the size of many rooms is designed for Lilliputians and the unisex bathroom and wc facilities is unwelcome. Teeny and thin duvets meant for an uncomfortable night. The continental breakfast was fine and the use of kitchens a welcome addition but I would not stay at this venue again
