Kitchener House is located about 3 kms south of George Square, five minutes walk from King’s Buildings. The Cameron Toll shopping centre is only a five minutes walk away. Kitchener House is split into two wings; the old wing is a conversion of the original hundred-year-old house, and contains most of the 6 double rooms, while the other more modern wing, houses most of the single rooms
A typical room consists of a single bed, wardrobe, desk with chest of drawers, study chair, armchair, bookcase, wastebin, desklight. Bathroom facilities(baths and showers) are shared by residents. Communal kitchens provide full self-catering facilities except for cutlery and crockery. There is a laundrette, drying and ironing rooms and TV lounge

The King's Buildings Campus can be accessed from the A701 from the City Bypass (A720) until it becomes Mayfield Road. Entrance gates 3 and 4 can be found on Mayfield Road with entrance gates 1 and 2 on West Mains Road. Visitors using the A1 can approach the University following the City Bypass (A720), turn off at the A701 junction until it becomes Mayfield Road (The Science and Engineering Faculty) and continue straight ahead until through Causewayside until you reach the central area
