City Lodge London Reviews page 2
Based on 24 Hotel ReviewsFriendly people on reception at City Lodge London. Close to Bow Church Tube Station. Room was clean apart from window ledge but communal area hall and stairs filthy. No tea and coffee facility in room which would have been welcomed. Room was nice and quiet with dark curtains so to block out light
Only 5 minute walk from Bow Tube Station. Ideal location for sight seeing in the City. Choice of tea ,coffee, cereal, bread, eggs and fruit for breakfast. Access to the kitchen again between 4 and 6 and 9 and 11. Accommodation is basic, however would book City Lodge again if visiting London.
I was on a budget and had need of staying in the East London area, so I booked, and would recommend, the City Lodge London. I am, however, what one might politely call and older gentleman, and in this respect the hotel was not perfectly suited to my needs. The Bow Road, on which it is situated, is remarkably pretty during the summer, and the attached public house was a pleasant enough place to unwind after a long day of sight-seeing. It would also be unreasonable for me to expect them to install a lift to service three floors, however the stairs did pose a problem for me. The staff were immensely polite and helpful, however the room was bafflingly small and hot. This was uncomfortable in the warm July weather. In summary, although the hotel was not perfect I would give them a high score for effort. It is unlikely that I would personally stay again however I would not advise others against it
Very pleasant staff; friendly polite room a lot higher standards than 2 star London accommodation
Lovely London hotel. Very cheap for the service you are given, your breakfast was included in the price. The 02 Arena is 10-15 minutes away which is very handy. The man who served me at the front desk couldn't have been any more polite, respectful and helpful. The rooms are kept very tidy and are just the right size perfect little hotel for a trip away
City Lodge London was very nice inside. The customer service was great the receptionist done everything he could for me and my partner. The rooms were neat and tidy and had everything you could ask for. I have no complaints
City Lodge London is a friendly and homely place. I was impressed by the well kept condition. Keep it up
We stayed at the "hotel" for four nights and couldn't wait to leave. The premises were nigh on impossible to find, and staff were unfriendly. The room was the size of a matchbox and had one tiny window and was so incredibly hot we didn't sleep for more than an hour at a time. As we couldn't shut the windows due to the heat, the noise from the street further kept us awake, although we were apparently on the "quiet" side of the building. The minute bathroom was dirty and was not cleaned once in the time we were there. The communal kitchen where we were invited to have our complimentary breakfast was so filthy we didn't use it once, and ended up spending more money on breakfast elsewhere every day. We would never stay here again and would advise anyone else against it too, simply horrible.
The room at City Lodge London was clean. Self service breakfast. Good position for public transport
Kings Arms Guest House is very good value for the price and a friendly receptionist. Unfortunately there was no hot tap water at 11:00 p.m. when we needed a shower
