Grosvenor House Studios Reviews page 6
Based on 115 Hotel ReviewsGenerally ok, however shower was not cleaned before we arrived as there were many hairs still inside
The rooms were clean, the shower a little erratic, the TV needs proper aeriel as poor picture. But overall impression was good
We stayed for 3 weeks. We were provided a married student accommodation which was very spacious. The front counter staff was very helpful and went out of their way to provide any assistance we needed. For the amount we paid the room was an incredible deal when location and size and everything was factored in. The only comments of a negative nature were that to get a change of towels or linens or cleanings we had to leave a note for the cleaning staff. Though we never mentioned it ,someone should probably check the shower drainage in our room #128
During our 7 night stay the only cleaning we noticed was the change of the bag in the dustbin - not once our room was actually cleaned. I can understand that if you stay only 2 days but not for a stay of 8 days. The bed had little iron pins sticking through the mattress. Most of the staff were indifferent and even didn't say hello. A positive element was the excellent breakfast at Holborn. I wouldn't say that this was a pleasant stay.
Please tell the cleaners to use some bleach for the w.c. I had to buy some as its base was black. The rest of my stay was very pleasant thanks to two wonderful people at the reception always ready to help and very kind
The location was superb, the cleanliness of the rooms acceptable. There was a serious problem of ventillation of rooms which made them uncomfortably hot they need better ventillation or failing that fans
Although I had booked as a single, I was allocated a room with a very comfortable double bed (with lots of plump pillows) The room itself appeared newly furnished (light ash effect) fresh and clean. The kitchen facilities were plentiful with a clean, new fridge and the shower room was as expected but also clean. I found the reception staff and maintenance engineer extremely helpful and friendly. On my arrival I could not find a kettle or watch the TV but on reporting to the reception staff, I was given a brand new travel kettle but unfortunately had to wait until the next afternoon before the TV was fixed. My only advice would be that an visitor's guide to be left in studios containing instructions on how to work the microwave etc and perhaps details of shows, restaurants etc in the vicinity. I found the building to be clean, quiet (my room overlooked a residential courtyard but I enjoyed the sound of a children's birthday party coming from below) with working lifts. I would definitely come again and must complement LSE on their welcoming staff
The room was large and clean with good facilities for cooking. The location was fantastic because it was a two minute walk from Covent Garden and theatre land, I would not hesitate to stay here again
The mattress was very uncomfortable, please change it, you could feel the spring almost piercing your back
The location of the accommodation was excellent, serving of the room was excellent. Our room had two pillars which restricted movement. Also if arriving late in the evening the signage was difficult to find. However I still would give it 5/5
