Forest Gate Hotel Reviews page 3
Based on 30 Hotel ReviewsMichael, the manager, was extremely helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I enjoyed meeting the clientele in the bar downstairs. The guests I met at breakfast were an eclectic lot. Obviously, the on-line presence ensures this establishment a good turnover of visitors. As they say, you get what you pays for.
The Forest Gate hotel provided a comfortable bed and a good shower at a reasonable price. Breakfast was fine and the staff friendly. I felt safe. Transport to and from Central London was fine when the Overground was working. Overall, a good price/service ratio.
Forest Gate is a very budget hotel, but this is reflected in the price. The staff are friendly and if you don't expect luxury you should be OK
Our stay at Forest Gate Hotel was less than satisfactory. The arrival was friendly and the hotel is a 10minute walk to tube station. Our room smelt bad when we entered, maybe like damp dog or smelly feet to put it bluntly. There were damp patches on the walls and yes it was just a one star but there should be a certain standard. Sheets smelt clean but we found hairs on them. There was however a microwave and fridge in the room. The breakfast was not good. Very small portions of egg, beans and bacon
Easy to find, the staff is very nice and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and suprisingly quiet. A good way to discover East London
It lives up to its promises... quite far away from London City, but you know before hand! Breakfast is early and not too much, but free cereals help. Nice local pub, to get a look on how the British live their lives. Rooms are ok, showers are ok and stuff was helpful and nice! Not a "real backpacker" hostel, but a cheap stay close to London
Good, nice and cheap hotel with kind and friendly staff. Only 30 minutes by train to the heart of London (therein only 10 minutes to Statford station). Safe and quiet area (we came back very late during our stay). Nice bar downstairs with great vibe
Mix up in bookings at Forest Gate Hotel so had to stay in sister hotel called the Central Hotel on Barking Road. Staff lovely in Forest Gate, were extremely apologetic and paid for taxi to the Central. The Central was awful. It was very musty and dirty, the toilet roll had about 5 sheets on it and the kettle had no cups or utensils to use. Also very noisy. However for the price was not expecting much was ok for a stop off for one night but would never stay again
I would absolutely stay here again. Great place! Management is completely awesome, going out of their way to help out, people are super great, breakfast includes eggs, things are clean, place has total character, very cool
Nice friendly hotel, just off the beaten track. Room suitable for my needs. I would go back there again.
