Astors Hotel Reviews page 6
Based on 52 Hotel ReviewsWe enjoyed staying at the hotel, but various things could have been better. No-one told us that there were road works outside the hotel and that one could not get right to the door. We had to drive all round the houses to find our way there. The staff could have mentioned that the best access road was Elizabeth Street. Also, I said we were coming up from Kent and no-one mentioned either that the so-called Pay and Display meters are NOT cash, and that one has to use a mobile phone. We don't use credit cards and I had huge problems getting a payment organised while a traffic warden looked on. This made our arrival very stressful - when all of this could have been avoided. I would have appreciated some information about this when I rang to book the room. A good clean room however, and breakfast better than expected, although the coffee dispenser only gives out half a cup at a time. Why not change the setting and give everyone a good mug of tea or coffee for breakfast?
I would highly recommend Astors Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and clean place to stay in London. The room was very pleasant - well decorated with a comfy bed, a wall mounted flat tv screen and a good shower. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast area is a bit small but the continental breakfast itself was good - croissants, cereals, eggs, fruit salad etc. The location is good - a five minute walk to Victoria Station
Stayed in double basement room 201 for 1 night on Friday 24th April. Needed somewhere near to Victoria Coach Station, and this is a 3 minute walk! It was exceptionally clean and well maintained; not noisy although near the road. The staff were friendly and very helpful, offering to carry our cases down the narrow stairway. The continental breakfast was good with enough choice for all tastes. Tables are a little in short supply, but they have made the best use of available space. We would definitely use the Astors Hotel in the future.
Very nice hotel, well situated and reasonably priced. We will stay here again.
Rooms are small but pretty well equipped and comfortable. Only issue was that that the sound on the TV was distorted, and the bathroom floor was absolutely freezing. Our room (203) was right next to the kitchen area where breakfast is prepared, so we were woken early. Not the best room in the hotel! Breakfast area very small and cramped - not a relaxing way to start the day.
My room was clean, service very good. Would recommend booking Astors Hotel to anyone.
We found the accommodation to be clean and comfortable, and in a quiet location within 5 minutes walking distance of Victoria station underground. A good base to strike out and see the sites.
