On arrival at the hotel we were informed that the restaurant was closed that night. As I had travelled from Glasgow and arrived at 7pm this was not a good thing to hear, especially when I had already enquired about eating in the restaurant on arrival. We were offered numbers for a take-away service or told there was a brewer’s fayre nearby. My friend asked the Hotel to pick up the taxi fares to and from the restaurant and after calling the Manager we were informed that it would be alright to do this. When showing us to our room, after five attempts we were shown into a twin room with no towels, toilet rolls or tea/coffee. The desk clerk did return with towels etc but we still had to say about the tea coffee and he assured us they would be in our room when we returned. He did do this but did not supply us with any cups! After the earlier fiasco we were in no mood to return to reception so went without. During the night the central heating rattled and banged every half hour which kept us awake all night so we were up before our alarm went off and were both shattered before we started our journey. The Hotel was booked as part of a Birthday treat for myself and ended up being a disaster. The only consolation was the night porter who was a lovely man and couldn't be more helpful. I never complain about anything and just chalk things down to experience, but the fact that my friend had paid for my treat I feel I had to say something.

The hostel was nice; the room was warm and clean. Everything you need is there. If you are arriving from the airport, you will need to take a cab and this costs 9 EUR (one way).

Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed my stay in a comfortable room with Freeview TV. The room was clean and tidy and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately there is no restaraunt but a full English breakfast is available
