Smithy Andrews Prestwick combines a village location in picturesque Monkton with close proximity to Glasgow’s Prestwick Airport, just a three minute taxi journey away. Formerly a blacksmith’s forge and stable in the eighteenth-century, the buildings have been converted into a bed and breakfast. The owners refer to the magic space of Smithy Andrews Prestwick as an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’, thanks to the mementos you will find there of its former use as a forge!
There are lots of optional extras available at Smithy Andrews Prestwick – you can reserve a Scottish welcome tray, cooked breakfast or evening meal as well as a story telling adventure or an excursion (all for a fee). The six-bedded dormitory room is ideal for a family or group of friends and has a shared bathroom and kitchen at either end of the dorm room. There is also a relaxing area with record player and records as well as a large garden, which is accessible through the stable door.

There are lots of areas to which you can drive during your stay, including Scotland’s beautiful West Coast – you could visit Arran and the Mull of Kintyre, or charming seaside villages such as Ayr, Troon and Prestwick.

However, if we come back, we'll seriously consider making this place our base for our holiday. The bed was so incredibly comfortable! The room felt very personal, like it really belonged to someone; unlike a generic hotel room. Very comfortable and warm. Took a bit of fiddling to work out the shower, but got it in the end
