Buster Merryfield, who played Uncle Albert in Britain's favourite sitcom, Only Fools And Horses, was born in Battersea on 27th November 1920.
The first football match ever played under Football Association rule took place on 9th January 1863, at Battersea Park.
Famous residents include comedian Jack Dee, celebrities Simon and Yasmin Le Bon, and chef Gordon Ramsey. 007 star Roger Moore was also born here in 1927.
Lady bicyclists shocked locals by riding in Battersea Park in the 1890s. They had been banned from Hyde Park!
