How to get around Shepherds Bush
Shepherds Bush Train
Shepherds Bush has a train station served by the London Overground and Southern Rail. You can catch a train from Shepherds Bush to Wembley Central in less than 15 minutes for Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena, or take a train to Milton Keynes Central in just over an hour, where you can enjoy a trip to Gulliver’s Land or go skiing and rock climbing in Xscape MK. You can also get to Stratford directly in 50 minutes too, where you can visit the Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City.
Shepherds Bush Tube
You’ll find three tube stations dotted all over Shepherds Bush to help you get around London. Shepherds Bush and Goldhawk Road tube stations are both situated on the Hammersmith and City Line. It will only take you 15 minutes to get to Baker Street to explore the Sherlock Holmes Museum, massive Regents Park and exciting Madam Tussauds. If you’re travelling from White City Tube Station on the Central Line you can get to Marble Arch on the verge of Hyde Park in 12 minutes, and Oxford Circus to shop in the vibrant stores of Oxford Street in 14 minutes.
Shepherds Bush Parking
You could be lucky enough to find a hotel with parking in Shepherds Bush, but if you don’t you can always park your car in the NCP car park which is on the rooftop of the West 12 Shopping Centre, just off of Shepherds Bush Green on Charecroft Road. Just be aware that Shepherds Bush can get really busy when concerts or plays take place.
Shepherds Bush Taxis
One way to travel around London from Shepherds Bush is via taxi, which is always a safe option in a city after a late night at the theatre or music venues. You’ll find cab companies like Oasis Mini Cab Company and Zaphiron Cars on Goldhawk Road (really close to Goldhawk Road Tube Station). If you want companies close to Shepherds Bush Tube Station you should try Greater London Transportation on Shepherds Bush Green and Astoria Express Car Hire on Uxbridge Road.
Shepherds Bush On Foot
Shepherds Bush may be situated in West London but there are plenty of amazing attractions in the surrounding areas that you can walk to from here. If you start out at Shepherds Bush Tube Station on the Hammersmith and City Line you can get to the Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith in 20 minutes. It will only take you 4 minutes from here to stroll to the Hammersmith Apollo concert hall and theatre. The massive Olympia Exhibition Centre is just 20 minutes away too. If you fancy relaxing you can always take the 25 minute amble to Holland Park, but if you’re looking for a vibrant experience why don’t you walk to the Portobello Road Market in trendy Notting Hill which is 35 minutes away.
