How to get around Pimlico
Pimlico Tube
As Pimlico is relatively small, you’ll always find yourself within walking distance of Pimlico Tube Station. The Victoria Line serves this station, and you’ll be able to use this route to get to Oxford Circus Tube Station and the fantastic shopping on Oxford Street in around 6 minutes, or carry on to Kings Cross (10 minutes), and then walk to the British Museum and British Library. You could also use nearby Victoria Tube Station, which is just over a 10 minute walk from Pimlico, and travel for around 18 minutes on the Circle Line to Baker Street Tube Station to walk amongst the waxwork stars at Madame Tussauds.
Pimlico Parking
You won’t really need to drive to Pimlico as the public transport links are so good, but if you decide to do so there are a number of places you can park your car. On Cumberland Street you’ll find Pimlico Car Park near Pimlico Tube Station, or you could park a little further away in Knightsbridge Car Park near Knightsbridge Tube Station. For the security of an NCP car park, you should head for either Horseferry Road between Pimlico and Victoria tube stations, or Semley Place near Sloane Square Tube Station.
Pimlico Taxis
If you would rather get a taxi than use the London Underground or local bus routes, you’ll find a number of taxi services in Pimlico, all of which are near Pimlico Tube Station. On Lupus Street you have Airport Cars & Taxis, on Sussex Street you’ll find Location Cars Ltd and Pimlico Cars also operate in the area, from Tachbrook Street. In addition to the local firms, you could always hail one of London’s iconic black cabs.
Pimlico On Foot
If you take Pimlico Tube Station as your starting point, you’ll find masses of famous tourist attractions within easy walking distance. A short stroll of around 11 minutes brings you to stunning Westminster Cathedral. Walk for a total of 15 minutes to get to the historic Westminster Abbey. You can also walk to Buckingham Palace to see the Changing of the Guards in around 20 minutes, or head 20 minutes in the opposite direction across Vauxhall Bridge to see a cricket match at The Oval. Another great place to visit is Chelsea; it will only take 25 minutes to get to the shopping on and around the exclusive Sloane Square and Kings Road. Alternatively, a 30 minute stroll will take you to the world famous Harrods n Knightsbridge.
