How to get around Islington
Islington Tube
It’s easy to travel around London with Islington as your base. You can travel from Highbury & Islington Tube Station via the Victoria Line, or start out on the Northern Line from Angel Tube Station. In 11 minutes you can get to the fantastic London Eye at Waterloo, or get off at Green Park to stroll to the magnificent Buckingham Palace. An 8 minute journey will take you to the exclusive shopping area of Bond Street in Mayfair, or to the gruesome London Dungeon that’s on the doorstep of London Bridge Tube Station. Don’t forget to take a 9 minute trip to Baker Street to visit the world-famous Madame Tussauds!
Islington Parking
If you decide to drive to Islington then you may be lucky enough to find a hotel with parking. If not then you can park in the NCP car park near Highbury & Islington Tube Station on Pear Tree Street.
Islington Taxis
if you decide to use taxis to get around Islington then there are lots of taxi companies in the area. The nearest to Angel Tube Station is Ascot Car Services on Essex Road and the nearest to Highbury & Islington Tube Station is Local Car Service on Holloway Road.
Islington On Foot
Islington is a great place to stay. Not only is it a vibrant location - full of trendy bars and restaurants, it’s also easy to get to the rest of London from here. You can walk to the awe-inspiring British Museum in 23 minutes; visit the spectacular St. Paul’s cathedral (located in the City) in 25 minutes, or be eating in Chinatown (in legendary Soho) in 30 minutes. Super-trendy Camden Market is a 40-minute walk away and beautiful Covent Garden, with its colourful street entertainment, is only 30 minutes from Islington on foot.
