As you will be staying in the grounds of Durham Castle, it makes sense to join in on one of the guided tours. You shouldn’t miss the opportunity to explore Durham Cathedral next door either. Although Durham is a compact city, it has its fair share of shops, pubs and restaurants for you to explore as well as attractions like St Nicholas Church and the Botanic Gardens. If you fancy a trip outside of Durham you can always catch a bus to the North of England’s Open Air Museum in Beamish. | |||
