Edinburgh Zoo: Meet over 1,000 animals
Scotland's largest wildlife attraction, Edinburgh Zoo is the city's second most-visited attraction after Edinburgh Castle. Meet over 1,000 animals, including Koalas, the only zoo in the UK to house the Australian marsupial. Edinburgh Zoo was also the first in the world to breed penguins and you can see plenty of them! Every day the enclosure opens for the Penguin Parade, and the penguins waddle around the zoo. You will also find two sun bears, chimpanzees, two jaguars and Asiatic lions at the attraction, while two giant pandas will soon be arriving at the zoo, the first to live in the UK for 17 years. Edinburgh Zoo is located just outside Edinburgh city centre, near the attractive Water of Leith and Murrayfield rugby stadium.
