This year's course is a gruelling 21 miles long and runs from London's historic Docklands all the way to Ham, Richmond. Visitors to London and residents alike are encouraged to take in the sights of the race from a number of popular viewing spots including both Tower Bridge and London Bridge. "With its intriguing mix of colour, spectacle, intense competition and casual fun, it combines all the ingredients that made London's 'other' marathon such a success," the river race's website reads.
