Description

Grant House in the north zone, was originally opened in 1967. All the accommodation is in single study bedrooms on a full board basis (breakfast and evening meal seven days a week, with lunch included at weekends).

All rooms are single-occupancy. Bathroom facilities (baths and showers) are shared. Meals are taken in the dining room at the adjacent John McIntyre Centre. This 6-storey block, originally opened in 1967, is one of six similar tower blocks on the site. Kitchenettes include a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is TV lounge, newspapers and vending machines.

By Plane : Edinburgh's International Airport has direct flights from a number of European centres. There are regular flights to and from London, and visitors from North America can fly direct to Glasgow (40 miles) from Edinburgh
By Train : The nearest mainline train station is Waverley Station in the centre of the City. Example journey times by train to Edinburgh from Aberdeen is 2hrs 30mins, Manchester 3 hrs 50 mins, Birmingham 4hrs 30 mins, Newcastle 1 hr 30 mins, Glasgow 50 mins, Liverpool 4 hrs 30 mins, Inverness 4 hrs, London 4 hrs 20 mins
By Car : The King's Buildings Campus can be accessed from the A701 from from the City Bypass (A720) until it becomes Mayfield Road. Entrance gates 3 and 4 can be found on Mayfield Road with entrance gates 1 and 2 on West Mains Road. Visitors using the A1 can approach the University following the City Bypass (A720), turn off at the A701 junction until it becomes Mayfield Road (The Science and Engineering Faculty) and continue straight ahead until through Causewayside until you reach the central area
By Bus : Take the following buses to the city centre from Dalkeith Road (A68) near Pollock Halls. 2, 2A, 7N, 14, 21, 29, 30, 33, 82, 85, 88, 95, 96, 131, 134, 145, C3, C11
