West Mains Road was built in 1992 and, like the other residences, is close to the Cameron Toll shopping centre. Each flat - which are larger than average - accommodates 10 residents in single study-bedrooms, with spacious communal kitchens and dining/lounge areas. The upper flats have spectacular views over Edinburgh. There are excellent local facilities at Cameron Toll shopping centre.

 A typical room consists of a single bed, wardrobe, desk with chest of drawers, study chair, armchair, bookcase, wastebin, desklight. Baths and showers are shared by residents. Communal kitchens provide full self-catering facilities except for cutlery and crockery. There is a laundrette and TV lounge. Guests are asked to bring their own bedding.

• By Car : The King's Buildings Campus can be accessed from the A701 from the City Bypass (A720) until it becomes Mayfield Road. Entrance gates 3 and 4 can be found on Mayfield Road with entrance gates 1 and 2 on West Mains Road. Visitors using the A1 can approach the University following the City Bypass (A720), turn off at the A701 junction until it becomes Mayfield Road (The Science and Engineering Faculty) and continue straight ahead until through Causewayside until you reach the central area
